Corona treatment

Corona treatment is a technology that modifies the surface tension of materials to improve their adhesion to inks, varnishes, glues and other coatings. By exposing the surface to a high-voltage electrical discharge between an electrode and a discharge cylinder, corona treatment generates a controlled oxidation that increases the wettability of the substrate. This method is used in various industrial applications, including printing, packaging, textiles and medical. Unlike chemical treatments, corona treatment is a more environmentally friendly solution, without solvents or harmful additives. It allows large surfaces to be treated efficiently thanks to the integration of modules on motorized conveyors or continuous production lines, suitable for flat or coiled materials. The treatment speed varies according to the number of electrodes and the power (kW) of the system, ensuring adaptation to the specific needs of each application.

Plasma treatment

Plasma treatment is an advanced technology for modifying the surface tension of materials to improve their adhesion to inks, varnishes, glues and other coatings. Unlike corona treatment, it uses an ionized gas (plasma) generated by a high-voltage discharge in a controlled environment. This process allows for more intense and targeted oxidation, providing better activation of difficult-to-treat surfaces, such as technical plastics, metals and composites. Plasma treatment is widely used in the aeronautics, automotive, medical and electronics sectors. It represents an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical treatments, reducing the use of solvents while ensuring optimal performance. Thanks to mobile nozzles or conveyor installations, it can treat both small complex parts and large surfaces continuously, with flexibility adapted to industrial requirements.

Surface Tension - DYNE Level

Increasing surface tension, measured in Dyne, is essential to improve the adhesion of inks, varnishes and glues. Without proper treatment, ink applied to a surface with low surface tension will disperse and bead, reducing print quality.

With corona treatment, the surface tension is increased, allowing the ink to spread evenly and adhere effectively. Corona treatment is therefore a key solution to optimize the printing and holding of coatings on various materials.
